Protect your musical investment with regular maintenance so that you and your family will get the most enjoyment out of your piano. There are 3 basic steps in maintaining your piano: Tuning, voicing, and regulation.
Tuning is the adjustment of the piano’s strings to bring it to the proper pitch. Regular tunings will help students develop proper ear training, improve the sound quality of your piano, and protects your investment. We recommend getting your piano tuned at least 1-2 times a year or as needed.
Voicing is the adjustment of the piano’s tone or sound which can be done by softening or hardening the hammers and adjusting various parts of the keyboard mechanism. Overtime, hammers can become compact due to the constant impact with the strings which can result in a change of timbre. For voicing, we recommend discussing your needs with a qualified piano technician.
Regulation is the adjustment of the action mechanism which improves the touch of the piano. Periodically, your piano action will require an adjustment to compensate for any changes due to the normal wear and compacting of material. For regulation, we recommend discussing your needs with a qualified piano technician.
